My guest, Mary-Kate Medicine, candidly discusses the power of challenging cultural norms and historically taboo subjects that, by design, keep trauma hidden in shame and secrecy. When we look at our own upbringing and recognize patterns from our childhood that don’t serve us, we then have the opportunity to change behaviours in order to release ourselves and parent better. Mary-Kate reminds us how this level of awareness allows us to open up deep conversation with our own children, educate them with the language they need to express emotion and allow them freedom of full self-expression.
